Who answers for your data

Avenue Properties, a real-estate brokerage based in Dubai, decides what this site collects and what is done with it. The company's full identity, its licence number and its address are on the legal notice page.

For any question about this policy, or to exercise the rights set out below, the address to write to is at the foot of this page.

What we collect

Nothing is gathered behind your back: it all comes from what you write to us, or from what an acquisition in progress requires.

• When you fill in a form — your name, your telephone number, your email address if you give one, the language of your enquiry, what you are looking for and your message, along with the reference of the property you were reading and the page you wrote from.
• When you become a client — your identity and contact details, the language you deal with us in, then what makes up your file: the property acquired, its payment schedule, the payments and the documents that go with them, from the booking form to proofs of transfer.
• What is purely technical — your IP address is held in memory for a few minutes, long enough to stop forms being submitted automatically. It is not recorded. We do no profiling and no targeted advertising.

What we do with it

Every piece of information serves the reason you gave it to us:

• answering you, calling you back, arranging a viewing or a valuation;
• following your acquisition in your client area, and giving you your schedule and your documents there;
• sending you our market letter, if you asked for it;
• meeting the obligations that apply to a real-estate brokerage in the United Arab Emirates, and protecting the site from automated submissions.

On what grounds

If you live in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation applies to our dealings. We process your data:

• to take the steps you ask for before any contract, when you write to us;
• to perform the contract between us, when you are a client;
• with your consent, for the market letter — consent you can withdraw at any time;
• because the law requires it, for our professional and accounting obligations;
• because we have a legitimate interest in it, for the security of the site.

Who has access

Your data stays within the agency. It is reached by:

• the advisors at Avenue Properties, as far as their work requires;
• our technical providers, who act on our instructions and may do nothing else with it: the host of the site, the host of the database and the documents, and the service that sends our emails;
• the developer concerned and the competent authorities, where a booking or a legal obligation calls for it.

We neither sell nor rent your information to anyone.

Where it is kept

The database and the documents are hosted in Ireland, inside the European Union. The servers that run the site are in the United States, and your data is consulted from our offices in Dubai. Those transfers are governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, agreed with our providers.

For how long

• Enquiries that came to nothing — three years from our last exchange.
• Client files — for as long as the relationship lasts, then five years, the period our professional obligations require us to keep.
• Market letter — until you unsubscribe.

Once those periods have passed, the data is deleted.

Your rights

You may at any time ask to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected, erased or transferred, to restrict its use or to object to a use of it. If you consented to our letter, that consent is withdrawn with one click from any of our emails.

Write to the address below: we answer within a month. If our answer does not satisfy you and you live in France, you may refer the matter to the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés.

Cookies

This site shows no cookie banner, for a simple reason: it sets only two, and neither is there to follow you.

• The first remembers the language you read the site in.
• The second keeps your session open when you sign in to your client area.

No advertising tracker, no audience measurement, nothing shared with a social network. Were we to add a measurement tool one day, we would ask for your agreement before it ran.

How it is protected

Exchanges with the site are encrypted. In the database each client is walled off, and that rule is enforced by the server itself rather than by the site: a programming mistake therefore cannot expose someone else's file. Documents are held in a private space and open only through a signed link, valid for one minute. The administration is reachable only by the agency's own accounts.

If this policy changes

The date at the head of the page is the last revision. A change that altered how your data is used would be announced before it took effect.
